The android client does have the ability to make songs available offline. Not sure that feature was part of the client you tested. The sound one certain songs is really bad but then again I listen to a lot more music than normal.

The marketplace for Android tablet apps will grow. The experience will get better and better over time. So I wouldn't recommend selling it. (You may have a hard time finding a buyer.)

Good point about Intellectual Property. One thing that I appreciate about Google Music is that you use the same Google Account that you use for <strong>everything</strong> Google. So I would never consider sharing access to Google Music with anyone.

What I would like Google to do is more along the lines of their own "<a href="http://www.dataliberation.org/" rel="nofollow">Data Liberation Front</a>" so that people would be able to export their own data from Google. I don't really see a need for quick access to download songs, rather a way to retain ownership of the files that I provided, so that I could move my data around

This is NOT about beta, but IP. An option to download would infringe IP in many jurisdictions. Using a digital locker in the cloud imply making copies of the music. "Private copy exceptions" in most jurisdictions do not allow help from third parties to make the copies. Google could be considered as a third party if you were able to download. Streaming is normally not considered as IP copying, just as making IP available. It's ok to make music available, but not to the public. Hence, you have to log in, and the streaming is restricted to 8 devices. That's probably considered as privte use in most jurisdictions.

Howard, this is a great idea and I am one who would certainly pay at least $1 to watch a live stream of the event. This would solve a lot of problems for many and certainly would generate plenty of money and goodwill.

So how can email marketing create conversation? -- I have no idea.
It takes a lot to grab my attention. I need to be hit over the head with something uber creative.

Email marketing does not make me respond or converse one single bit.

Through my job, I get a lot of email marketing. Are the constant contact emails nice? Yes, at times.
But, now there are just so many that I can't help but speed through them and, ultimately, delete.

In the morning, I have 50 new emails. 80% of them are email marketing.

Email marketing feels like spam. What does spam feel like, you ask?
Canned. Over-done.

Or, impersonal and annoying, even if it says "Hey, Christine!" Just because I signed up for something, it doesn't mean I want weekly coorespondance.

Just because email is impersonal and free, it doesn't give you the right to bombard me.

Least favorite? That's easy.<br>"IMPORTANT"<br>Just like that...caps & all. Now, unless I know exactly who you are and have some idea of what might be so important, this email is going straight to the 'trash'. Anyone who knows each other will know better than to waste time on crap. Legitimate emails are all important in one way or another. <br><br>I'll tell you what too...depending on what mood you caught me in, you might even get placed on my 'blocked senders' list by sending something like that. Save the drama and just indicate what's so important. Making people guess is a sure-fire way to lose the audience.

Sad. I hope you come back and post what happens with this story. Does Carrabbas come back and apologize or something like that?

Very good point about engaging with customers on your Facebook business fan page. And you're on target; it should not be about broadcasting, it's really about establishing a natural two way conversation, much the same as talking face to face. Thanks for sharing Howard. Very much appreciated my friend!

Very cool to hear. Mifi seems to have an almost Apple-esque appeal. It looks cool, and does things (connectivity) that I associate with Apple (via my iPhone).

Glad to hear a good review.

Excellent post, Howard. My Facebook friends complained continually about my twitter crossovers. Finally I broke the link. It's seductive to try and save keystrokes by having the 2 environments talk... but that's just a siren... Not something to do.

Net net, my activity has dropped off... but I'm still trying to develop a personal social media strategy that makes sense.

Agreed that the Q & A are one of the best parts of LinkedIn. I've definitely spent alot of time in that area of the website and that's something I'll never get from Facebook.
Music created by computer is not by definition bad - the computer is a tool, and what we need are better algorithmic composition tools to use its power. As a comment on the 'piano inside my head' title, by the way, I find the piano is more 'inside my fingers' - I often find my fingers moving to create imaginary pieces that are ever-present, subliminally.
